Casino withdrawal with PayPal: why hardly any provider offers it

Values per casino, each with its source.

How we collect the data →

In short: none of the five casinos whose withdrawal terms we have compiled from sources – Boomerang, Skycrown, Wazamba, Cobra and 7Bit – lists PayPal as a withdrawal method. PayPal does not appear in the withdrawal lists that AskGamblers and Cobra's own payments page publish for these brands (data as of 05.10.2026). Other methods are available instead: e-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller, bank transfer, credit cards and cryptocurrencies.

This page is part of our overview of casino withdrawal methods. Here we focus on PayPal only: what the sources list per brand, which legal framework applies to payment service providers and which alternatives are documented with which processing time, minimum amounts and fees.

We do not recommend any provider and we do not encourage gambling. Where sources contradict each other, we give both figures with “according to …”. Under § 4(3) GlüStV 2021, minors may not take part in public gambling.

Why none of the 5 brands offers PayPal

The sources give no reason why PayPal is missing at the five brands – they simply list the methods, and we do not present any guess about it as fact. What can be documented is the legal framework in which banks and payment service providers handle gambling payments under German law.

Under § 4 GlüStV 2021 (the German Interstate Treaty on Gambling), public gambling may only be organised or brokered with a permit from the competent authority of the respective federal state; unlicensed gambling and taking part in payments for it are prohibited (gesetze-bayern.de, as of 06.10.2026). In addition, § 9(1) no. 4 GlüStV 2021 allows the gambling supervisor, after prior notice, to prohibit banks and payment service providers from taking part in such payments – in the original wording, „die Mitwirkung an Zahlungen für unerlaubtes Glücksspiel und an Auszahlungen aus unerlaubtem Glücksspiel untersagen“ (gesetze-bayern.de, as of 06.10.2026). Because of this so-called payment blocking, the question of a payment method always depends on the provider's permit.

Which licences the sources attribute to the five brands:

  • Boomerang: Costa Rica (according to AskGamblers) / no valid licence (according to Casino.Guru).
  • Skycrown: Curaçao OGL/2023/176/0095 (according to gambling.com) / Tobique Gaming Commission (according to AskGamblers) / Curaçao 8048/JAZ2019-015 (according to Vigiswiss).
  • Wazamba: Anjouan Gaming Board and PAGCOR (both according to AskGamblers) / no licence (according to Casino.Guru).
  • Cobra: Tobique Gaming Commission no. 0000002 (according to Cobra) / Comoros (Anjouan) and New Brunswick (Tobique) (according to Casino.Guru).
  • 7Bit: Curaçao Gaming Authority OGL/2023/147/0081 (according to the T&Cs) / OGL/2024/1307/0748 (according to the About page) / Curaçao and Estonia (according to Casino.Guru).

None of these sources names a permit from a German authority. Whether a provider is permitted in Germany is shown only by the official list under § 9(8) GlüStV 2021, which the Joint Gambling Authority of the German Federal States (GGL) maintains as a whitelist and updates at least monthly. According to the GGL, all online gambling offers that are not on the whitelist are illegal; permitted providers use .de domains exclusively and receive a GGL seal (GGL FAQ, retrieved 06.10.2026). We have not queried the whitelist for each of the five brands; you can look up the operator's name in the GGL list yourself.

In Germany, PayPal is therefore only available with providers on the GGL whitelist: anyone who wants to play at an online casino with PayPal checks the provider's permit first and the payment method second. What a German permit involves and how to recognise it is explained on our page about casino licences in Germany, with the provisions quoted in full.

The GGL lists the risks of unlicensed providers as including criminal liability, missing player protection, refused payouts of winnings, misuse of data and claims that cannot be enforced; according to the GGL, it is not responsible for transaction problems. Under § 285 of the German Criminal Code (StGB), anyone who takes part in unlicensed public gambling is liable to punishment (gesetze-im-internet.de, as of 06.10.2026).

What the sources list as withdrawal methods per brand

The lists come from our fact base (05.10.2026); the number of methods is counted from each list, not estimated.

  • Boomerang Casino – 20 withdrawal methods according to AskGamblers: Payz, Skrill, Neteller, MiFinity, MuchBetter, Rapid Transfer, Trustly, Interac, Paysafecard, Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer and 8 cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Tether, USD Coin, DAI).
  • Skycrown Casino – 16 fiat methods according to AskGamblers, including Apple Pay, Skrill, Neteller, MiFinity, MuchBetter, Payz, AstroPay Card, Rapid Transfer, Paysafecard, bank transfer, Visa and Mastercard; plus 9 cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether (USDT) and TRON.
  • Wazamba – here two versions of the same source contradict each other: according to AskGamblers EN the list includes Skrill, Skrill 1-Tap, Neteller, Jeton, MiFinity, Rapid Transfer, Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer and crypto (16 methods in our list); according to AskGamblers DE there are 12 methods, and Visa, Skrill, Neteller and Rapid Transfer are missing there.
  • Cobra Casino – 17 methods according to its own payments page: Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, Skrill, Paysafecard, Interac e-Transfer, SticPay, Ecopayz (now Payz), Skrill Rapid Transfer, Instadebit, iDebit, Venus Point, bank transfer, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin.
  • 7Bit Casino – 19 methods according to AskGamblers: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Skrill, Neteller, Rapid Transfer, Payz, MuchBetter, MiFinity, AstroPay Card, Interac, Neosurf, bank transfer and 6 cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Binance Coin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash). According to our fact base, Paysafecard is listed at 7Bit for deposits only.

Result: 0 of 5 brands list PayPal for withdrawals. We have not recorded complete deposit method lists per brand; whether any of the five providers accepts PayPal for deposits is therefore “no information” in our fact base.

PayPal for deposits and payments: what is documented

Whether you can deposit with PayPal at the five brands is not documented. What is documented are the legal requirements for deposits with gambling providers – regardless of which payment service is behind them.

  • Own payment account only: deposits and withdrawals are only permitted via a payment account in the player's name at a credit or payment institution; „Ein- oder Auszahlungen über anonyme Zahlungsmittel sind im Fernvertrieb nicht zulässig“ – anonymous means of payment are not permitted in distance selling (§ 6b(4) GlüStV 2021, gesetze-bayern.de, as of 06.10.2026).
  • Deposit routes under the GwG: deposits are only permitted by direct debit, transfer or payment card in the player's name from a payment account of the player; an exception applies if no more than €25 per transaction and €100 per calendar month are deposited (§ 16(4) of the German Anti-Money Laundering Act, GwG, gesetze-im-internet.de, as of 06.10.2026).
  • E-money only for the same person: for e-money instruments, the holder must be identical with the player (§ 16(6) GwG, as of 06.10.2026). For an e-wallet this means the account must be in the same name as the player account.
  • Deposit limit: with permitted providers, every player sets a monthly cross-provider deposit limit, which in principle may not exceed €1,000 per month (§ 6c(1) GlüStV 2021, as of 06.10.2026). It applies to every deposit method, PayPal included; the LUGAS limit is kept in the limit file and, according to the GGL, resets on the first of the month.

A method a provider accepts for deposits is not automatically available for withdrawals – at 7Bit, Paysafecard is listed only as a deposit route according to our fact base. Before depositing, it is worth checking the withdrawal list in the cashier section and in the T&Cs.

What the law requires for e-wallets and payment accounts on withdrawal

The same rules apply to any other e-wallet. The following duties apply to permitted providers (all sources retrieved on 06.10.2026):

  • Withdrawal only to your own account: withdrawals may only be made by a payment transaction to a payment account in the player's name, stating the purpose of payment (§ 16(7) GwG).
  • Changed payment details: if a player changes their payment or bank details, withdrawals are only permitted to the previously stored connection until the new details have been verified (§ 6a GlüStV 2021). Anyone switching from one e-wallet to another should therefore expect an additional check.
  • Withdrawal only after verification: before the player's details have been confirmed, participation in games and withdrawals are not permitted; by way of exception, play is allowed for 72 hours from registration up to a deposit limit of €100 (§ 6a(4) GlüStV 2021).
  • Deduction from the player account: withdrawals must be deducted from the player account without delay once the player requests them (§ 6b(2) GlüStV 2021).
  • Due diligence: organisers and brokers of gambling are obliged entities under the Anti-Money Laundering Act (§ 2(1) no. 15 GwG) and must identify their contracting parties and monitor transactions (§ 10(1) GwG).

According to the sources, the five brands also require casino account verification before withdrawal: Boomerang a standard KYC before the first withdrawal (about 1 day according to AskGamblers), Skycrown an identity check before withdrawals (according to Vigiswiss), Wazamba reserves the right to defer the withdrawal until all verifications are complete (according to AskGamblers DE), Cobra keeps withdrawals pending until verification (according to its T&Cs), and 7Bit processes withdrawals only with an approved ID (according to its FAQ). On the duration of the check, the sources give up to 30 working days (according to the KYC page) / 0–24 h (according to AskGamblers) for Cobra, and up to 30 working days (according to the T&Cs) / a target of 24 h (according to the FAQ) for 7Bit; for Skycrown and Wazamba there is no information.

Alternatives to PayPal at the five brands

Skrill and Neteller are the e-wallets that appear most often in the sources: Boomerang, Skycrown, Cobra and 7Bit list both in their withdrawal lists; at Wazamba they are in the list according to AskGamblers EN, but not according to AskGamblers DE. If you are looking for an e-wallet to replace PayPal, our page on the Skrill casino withdrawal compares processing time, limits and specifics for all five providers. According to AskGamblers, a casino payout via Neteller follows the e-wallet times at these brands: Skycrown and Cobra 0–1 h, 7Bit 0–24 h, Boomerang 3–5 days.

Other e-wallets are spread unevenly. The sources name MiFinity at Boomerang, Skycrown, Wazamba and 7Bit, but not at Cobra. Payz is listed at Boomerang, Skycrown and 7Bit, and at Cobra under its former name Ecopayz; it is missing at Wazamba. MuchBetter is listed by Boomerang, Skycrown and 7Bit. Jeton appears only at Wazamba, Apple Pay only at Skycrown, AstroPay Card at Skycrown and 7Bit, SticPay only at Cobra. Rapid Transfer is named by Boomerang, Skycrown and 7Bit, by Cobra as “Skrill Rapid Transfer”; at Wazamba only by AskGamblers EN.

Bank transfer is the only fiat route contained in all five lists – at Wazamba even in both versions of the source. According to the sources, a casino payout to your bank account usually takes longer than an e-wallet withdrawal, and for Skycrown, Vigiswiss gives a minimum amount of €500.

Cryptocurrencies are also listed at all five brands: Boomerang lists 8 coins for withdrawal, Skycrown 9, Wazamba 7 accepted coins (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Tether, Litecoin, USD Coin, Binance Coin; DAI is not in this list), Cobra documents Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin for withdrawals, 7Bit 6 coins according to AskGamblers. For the processing time of crypto withdrawals at online casinos, the sources give figures only for Skycrown, Cobra and 7Bit; for Boomerang and Wazamba there is no information.

Cards: Visa and Mastercard are named by Boomerang, Skycrown, Cobra and 7Bit (7Bit also Maestro); at Wazamba Mastercard is in both versions of the source, Visa only according to AskGamblers EN. According to AskGamblers, withdrawing casino winnings to a credit card takes 1–5 days at Skycrown and 7Bit and 3–5 days at Boomerang.

Paysafecard is listed for withdrawals at Boomerang, Skycrown and Cobra (at Cobra max. €250 per withdrawal), and at 7Bit for deposits only. Since Paysafecard thus pays out at 3 of 5 brands, our page on withdrawal with Paysafecard compares the limits and conditions of these three providers for anyone who wants to use a prepaid method instead of PayPal.

Figures on withdrawal fees at online casinos for Skycrown (gambling.com), Cobra (payments page) and 7Bit (FAQ) come from different sources than the processing times; neither Skycrown nor 7Bit states the amount of the fee.

Processing time: e-wallet, bank transfer or crypto compared

The sources distinguish two stages: processing by the casino (pending) and the time until the money arrives via the method. Both can add up.

  • Boomerang: processing (pending) 1–5 days; then e-wallets, bank transfer and card 3–5 days each (according to AskGamblers). No information on crypto processing time.
  • Skycrown: e-wallets 0–1 h, bank and card 1–5 days, pending 0–72 h (according to AskGamblers) / MiFinity, Visa and Bitcoin “instant”, bank transfer 1–5 working days (according to Vigiswiss).
  • Wazamba: pending 0–5 days, e-wallets 0–24 h, bank and card 3–5 days (according to AskGamblers EN) / processing by the finance department within 3 working days, e-wallets 24 h, card 24–72 h (according to AskGamblers DE). Crypto: no information.
  • Cobra: up to 72 h after approval (according to the T&Cs) / a 12 h target (according to the FAQ) / “Instant” per method (according to the payments page) / pending 0–72 h (according to AskGamblers). E-wallets 0–1 h and crypto 0–2 h according to AskGamblers.
  • 7Bit: with a verified account usually processed without waiting time, depending on the method (according to the FAQ) / pending 0–24 h (according to AskGamblers). E-wallets 0–24 h, bank 1–7 days, card 1–5 days (according to AskGamblers); Bitcoin under 10 minutes (according to the operator).

According to the sources, none of the five brands pays out at weekends, and Cobra also not on bank holidays; a request made on Friday evening is processed on Monday at the earliest. For permitted providers, § 6b(2) GlüStV 2021 requires the amount to be deducted from the player account without delay once requested; how quickly it reaches the payment service is not governed by this provision. How pending, method and weekends add up to the total casino withdrawal time at all five brands is shown in our comparison of processing times.

Minimum amounts, limits and instalments for the alternatives

Besides processing time, the amount decides which alternative to PayPal fits. The sources give the following figures per brand:

  • Minimum withdrawal: Boomerang €10 (crypto: approx. €40–60); Skycrown €20 (according to gambling.com) / bank transfer from €500 (according to Vigiswiss); Wazamba €10; Cobra €20 (crypto: equivalent of €20); 7Bit 0.24 mBTC, depending on the method (according to the T&Cs/FAQ) / €20 (according to AskGamblers).
  • Limit per transaction: Boomerang €500 per transaction; Skycrown single withdrawal max. €1,000 as long as fewer than 10 deposits have been made (according to gambling.com) / max. €4,000 per withdrawal for bank transfer and MiFinity (according to Vigiswiss); Cobra max. €500 per withdrawal for card, e-wallets and bank, Paysafecard max. €250; Wazamba and 7Bit: no information.
  • Limit per day: Boomerang €500, Skycrown €5,000, Cobra €500 at VIP level 0 (Serpent); Wazamba and 7Bit: no information.
  • Limit per week: Skycrown €10,000, Cobra €2,500 (VIP level 0), 7Bit 0.12 BTC (according to the T&Cs) / €10,000 (according to Casino.Guru, AskGamblers); Boomerang and Wazamba: no information.
  • Limit per month: Boomerang €7,000, Skycrown €30,000, Wazamba €20,000 (according to Casino.Guru, AskGamblers EN) / €10,000 (according to AskGamblers DE), Cobra €10,000 (VIP level 0), 7Bit 0.48 BTC (according to the T&Cs) / €40,000 (according to Casino.Guru, AskGamblers).
  • Instalments: Skycrown reserves the right to pay winnings from €15,000 in monthly instalments of €15,000; 7Bit pays winnings above 0.48 BTC in monthly instalments of max. 0.48 BTC. For Boomerang, Wazamba and Cobra there is no information.

At Cobra, a larger win is therefore split over several requests, because the caps per withdrawal and per day are €500 each at VIP level 0.

Step by step: withdrawing without PayPal

The steps summarise what the sources on the brands and the legal requirements suggest; in case of doubt, the T&Cs of the respective provider prevail.

  1. ICheck the withdrawal list

Look in the cashier section and the T&Cs to see which methods are listed for withdrawals – not just for deposits. At Wazamba the lists differ between AskGamblers EN and DE.

  2. IIUse an account in your own name

The e-wallet or bank account must be in the same name as the player account (§ 6b(4) GlüStV 2021, § 16(6) and (7) GwG).

  3. IIIComplete verification

According to the sources, all five brands require an identity check before withdrawal. Upload documents in full so the request does not get stuck in the check.

  4. IVCompare minimum amount and limits

Check the brand's minimum withdrawal and maximum per withdrawal, day and month; at Cobra, for example, max. €500 per e-wallet withdrawal.

  5. VRequest the withdrawal

Choose the method, enter the amount and submit the request. If payment details have changed, payouts may only go to the previously stored connection until the check is complete.

  6. VIAllow for processing time

Add pending and method time and factor in the weekend: according to the sources, none of the five brands pays out at weekends.

  7. VIIKeep records

Save the request, confirmations and chat transcripts so you can show when what was requested if there is a delay.

If a withdrawal does not arrive even though verification is complete, the brand's support is the first point of contact; according to the sources, channels range from live chat to email.

Online casino: reclaiming a PayPal payment?

Whether you can get money back from an online casino after losing it via PayPal payments cannot be answered across the board, and we do not give legal advice here. What is documented is the status of a case at the Federal Court of Justice (BGH): in the leading-decision procedure I ZR 216/25, a player is claiming back €10,092 in losses from online casino games in 2020 to 2022 from a provider without a German permit; the lower courts ruled in his favour, and the hearing was scheduled for 17.09.2026 (BGH press release no. 086/2026 of 20.05.2026, retrieved 06.10.2026). Our source does not name a BGH judgment.

That is no promise for other cases: whether a claim exists and against whom – the provider, a bank or a payment service – depends on the individual case; for a specific case, a consumer advice centre or a lawyer can help.

Short answers

Frequently asked questions about PayPal at online casinos

Why is there no PayPal at online casinos?

For the five brands on this page – Boomerang, Skycrown, Wazamba, Cobra and 7Bit – the sources do not list PayPal as a withdrawal method; they give no reason. What is documented is the legal framework: under § 9(1) no. 4 GlüStV 2021 the supervisor can prohibit payment service providers from taking part in payments for unlicensed gambling (as of 06.10.2026).

Are there online casinos with PayPal withdrawal?

Among the five brands whose withdrawal terms we have recorded, none lists PayPal (0 of 5, data as of 05.10.2026). In Germany, PayPal is only available with providers on the GGL whitelist, because the supervisor can prohibit payment service providers from taking part in payments for unlicensed gambling (§ 9(1) no. 4 GlüStV 2021); we do not keep our own list of such providers. Whether a provider is permitted in Germany is shown by the GGL whitelist.

Which alternative to PayPal do the sources name most often?

Skrill and Neteller: they are in the withdrawal list of Boomerang, Skycrown, Cobra and 7Bit, and at Wazamba only according to AskGamblers EN. Bank transfer and cryptocurrencies are named by all five brands.

How long does an e-wallet withdrawal take instead of PayPal?

According to AskGamblers: Skycrown and Cobra 0–1 h, Wazamba and 7Bit 0–24 h, Boomerang 3–5 days after processing of 1–5 days. According to the sources, none of the five brands pays out at weekends.

Can I withdraw to an e-wallet that is not in my name?

No. Under § 16(7) GwG withdrawals may only be made to a payment account in the player's name, and for e-money instruments the holder must be identical with the player (§ 16(6) GwG, as of 06.10.2026).

Are there fees for the alternatives?

Boomerang and Wazamba: no withdrawal fees; Cobra: no withdrawal fees charged by the casino; Skycrown: fees apply if the deposit has not been wagered at least 3×; 7Bit: minor withdrawal fees charged by the casino. Skycrown and 7Bit do not state the amount.

Can I reclaim money I paid to a casino via PayPal?

That depends on the individual case. The BGH leading-decision procedure I ZR 216/25 on the reimbursement of losses from unlicensed online gambling is pending; our source (press release 086/2026) does not name a judgment. For a specific case, please contact a consumer advice centre or a lawyer.
